Zurich System House

Zurich System House is a software house providing IT solutions to the Zurich Financial Services Group world wide. ZSH employs 150 permanent members of staff in the United Kingdom, Switzerland, Denmark and North America.

Zurich System House provide a range of products and services including full lifecycle application development using CASE tools such as Computer Associate's Advantage Gen, as well as Visual Basic, C++, Java, and Lotus Notes, insurance packages for the AS/400, and Enterprise print solutions for desktop/AS- 400/MVS.

Ameritas and Zurich System House

For a number of years the Zurich System House has produced reusable components using the Advantage Gen CASE tool developed to CBD96 standards and methodology. Ameritas has assisted ZSH in their development of applications and components using Advantage Gen and Component Based Development (CBD).

ZSH Components

Some examples of Advantage Gen components developed by ZSH include :

Party - the Party component holds information on individuals and organisations, and includes support for party groups, party to party relationships and role definitions.

Location - manages information about locations such as postal addresses, website addresses (URLs), email addresses, phone/fax/mobile/pager numbers, x-y coordinates etc..

Business Summary - holds high level information about relationships with business partners (customers, brokers etc.) Examples include policy details, bank account information and insurance claims.

Business Diary - Business Diary provides user task management facilities such as user worklists, task assignment/reassignment and escalation of overdue tasks, enabling the scheduling and management of tasks for an individual.

NotePad - a text editor that allows notes to be held with any business object. Document Management - the ZSPRINT product is a MS-Word document management solution for COOL:Gen.
